Membership in Friends of Calligraphy is open to all—
beginner, amateur, and professional alike. The membership year runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. There are six categories of Membership:

| Household | $45 (2 people, 1 address, one set of mailings) |
| Student | $25 (full time, with verification) |
| Supporting | $65 |
| Sustaining | $125 |
| Patron | $500 (and up) |
Amounts over $40 (over $45 for Household memberships) are US tax deductible.
To purchase a gift membership please use the following procedure to join by mail or PayPal. Include giftee information on the FORM, and if using PayPal, under "Instructions to Merchant" when completing the transaction.

New memberships and renewals may be paid online via PayPal using their secure online payment service. You do not need to have a PayPal account, and all major credit cards are accepted. Please select from among the membership categories listed under the Pay Now button.

- Membership dues are for a membership year that runs from July 1 to June 30. New members are welcome to join at any time during a membership year, but all memberships are retroactive to the beginning of a given membership year. (As an example, a person who joins FOC in May will be entitled to all the publications for the current membership year but must renew on July 1.)
- FOC Workshops are open to current FOC members. Fort Mason classes are open to the public. Lectures are also open to the public.
- Flyers announcing workshops and other events are mailed or emailed to members. They provide detailed information including any changes to the event dates and times and will also confirm event location and fees.
- Members receive a membership directory, the journal Alphabet, published four times a year, and the Bulletin, published four times a year.
Calligraphy Referral Database
From time to time, we receive requests from people looking for a calligrapher who may be interested in doing a specific kind of job. If you would like to be included in FOC's database of referrals, please download the Calligraphy Referral form. We would appreciate receiving the filled out form, either through the mail, or scanned and emailed to Meredith Klein. You must be a member of FOC to be included in the Calligraphy Referral Database. This information may be provided in response to a specific request, but will not be published.
